Crappy acceleration is one thing. But this business about the clutch releasing and the engine having to "catch up again" really has me scratching my head...
Weak spark? How old is the engine? Maintenance?

the cable is solid. Motor might have 20 hours on it changed oil twice so far. when i drive it down the road it takes it forever to get up even enough rpms to hit the governer and when i do get it up to enough speed and it hits the governer the clutch will disengage and the cart will slow down a bit. then when the motor starts to rev back up the clutch will then engage and will go for about 30 feet and keep doing the same thing till i let out of the throttle and stay off the governer.

I strongly suggest it if you can. I've always been a believer in the warranty system. You paid for a new, quality controlled product. You should get it. Anything else is wrong. This is the free world. I'm knocking off for the night. Good luck.

Gotta love clones, also solid wire is a bad thing for a throttle cable. If you can fix the problem you must move this to a strand wire, solid wire has a tendency so require a large amount of strain on the linkage and can sometimes jam.

Has this been fixed yet? I have a blue clone that did the same thing, surging, and I believe it is the motor hitting the governor. Once I disabled my governor that issue went away. As for slow to get up to speed, I'm not completely happy with my clone for being the same way. I think I will try stiffer springs in my clutch. That should let the engine wind up a bit more before it engages.
