:furious2:My 6.0 hp tecumseh has been modified.....off road .225 cam, hedder, no gov., valve springs, K&N air intake, 26 - 28 degrees of timing, carb venturi honed out slightly, rpm set at 5800.......problem is: It now cuts out over bumpy terrain and will usually stall when coming back down a hill. It has to be held at WOT while it pops and sputters to regain an idle. A reliable source said to lower the plastic float a little more. Anyone?? Is it a fuel problem or an ignition grounding out problem causing it to load up? Any suggestions?? Thanks.

sounds lean - did you "increase" the jet sizes? I am not all that familar with that carb, so I do not know the specifics.

no low oil shut off and I was told that the carb was plenty rich....so no increase in jet sizing. I should check the plug.....it's an E3

E3 look cool but perform like **** on small engines. Also this is a carb issue, techumseh carbs suck *** and when the motor bumps the gas and **** ****s off in the carb bowl and floods the engine or deprives it of gas, whatever its in the mood to do. Only real thing u can do is buy an aftermarket carb or you can try moving the float lower but i really suggest an aftermarket carb

for the plug use ngk or champion. I usually use a Champion J19LM i believe
As for a carb anything not tecumseh or briggs, maybe a honda carb.

it allows too much fuel duh. Any motor that gets too much fuel than it can handle will burn too hot on top of the piston and burn it out
