Got a sidecover that has the t/q mount and it’s tiller output so my welded tiller cam works perfect.. I’ll be using a 3/4 standard 30 series F2BD8C4A-6496-4143-9455-7549A6FC7748.jpeg

Here is the sidecover I have purchased. No point in buying a sidecover if your not gonna get a gasket kit to set the crank end play.. don’t want the thing slipping around inside the case with the new rod!1D169C95-CB8B-4300-BDED-9378BA75DE45.jpeg154C2143-28DD-4799-A7F6-611DAA939C4B.jpeg

Alright my question is… total cost. Also, where did you find that side cover? They’re like a pot of gold-they don’t exist! I’m joking about that they’re just hard to find.

i’ll have to login to a few different places to grab all the prices but the head was $100 the flywheel $165 the arc rod was $50 all in all to much probably. but from here on out it’s $22 rod bearing replacement or worst case another $50 rod. swap all parts onto another cheap 5hp and go.

I was surprised when I did a quick search and a like new side cover for $30 popped up. I snagged it immediately.. 4E31C894-43E2-4F3E-8241-55F57C40822D.jpeg

I live down the road from a machine shop that has been ran by the same family since the town started probably. he can torque the rod but also i’m gonna ask if he will throw the cam in the mill and lighten it up by carving material out of the gear. I’m going to take a chance and hope the cam isn’t big enough to send the lifter bore face to the moon. If it breaks it off i’ll have to have the next block reinforced..

Sounds nice. Here's hoping it stays together!

The other forum board called it a 30 though deep trench left where I shaved off the eyebrows from the block and that would make compression so low you can’t mill the head enough to gain it back.. good thing this head is not only milled but also relieved and welded on. I’m almost sure I’m getting that compression back either way...66C01CC1-E882-4B57-A50E-C555AB691871.jpeg

Ahh it's surely for fun. They're cool little engines and sometimes we like period pieces, but don't think you'll make near as much power as a clone!
