I drive my kart around a while and when it gets hot often it will not start for a ton of pulls. Its usually just easiest to wait at least 15 minutes for it to cool down (sometimes more). My uncle seems to think that it is the gas in the carb evaporating due to it getting so hot. Is this likely/possible?

Could be an intermittent coil problem. Check for spark when hot.
Tank is above carb. Motor is only a few years old.

The heat from the engine could be causing the mythical "vapour lock". Does your tank have a breather?
Not yet, the kart is 300 miles away and I won't be able to get to it for a few weeks.
