I've lately been working on a tacumseh 5hp lawn mower engine.
I done research about how good it might be on a go kart by repositioning to horizontal.
I just wanted to know if anybody has better ideas for this and maybe help.
if anyone has experience please reply or message. A little will help,
Thanks.

I have seen it done before, but it was many a year ago. Seems like they used a washing machine transmission, but I don't know for sure. I'd just go with a horizontal shaft engine if possible. In the long run it will probably wind up cheaper and easier, but thats just my opinion.

The problem with repositioning Tecumseh vertical shaft engines is that an oil pump is utilized in the their design. If pump is not fully submersed...BOOM!!!
Conversion is more easily done on Briggs engines because splash system is used and requires no pressure.
