Im tempted to buy a complete kart for £75 ($180) and then make a new chassis for it as the one it has got at the moment is from a mobility scooter.

Would anyone be able to tell me if the follow kart is any good for the price:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Petrol-Go-Kar...ms=66:2|65:1|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50

Would it be able to pull me along at 20mph on flat grass, i weigh 70KG. How easy would the engine be to mod to give me some more power and speed?

Also it has a differential, is this a rare thing to have on a kart? And is it any good or would a live axle be better?

Looks like a wheelie waiting to happen.

I would buy that, then tear it apart and use the parts to build a more traditional kart. lol

diff is worth some money (about 100-180 usd i think) so buying it just to sell that and then building a better kart with that ones peices would be good

i saw this a few days ago, and thought it looked badly designed, and back heavy, but it would have been a steal! the ngine alone is worth more!

That thing looks like it'd be a hoot to drive! I'd only be worried about the high center of gravity because of the seat being up high. I don't think the 35lbs of motor behind the axle would be as much of an influence. Kinda neat- very original.
