i was thinking of getting a racing frame. build it up with a 50cc 4-stroke(its off of a big moped so im guessing 50cc)it has a TC on the engine.
the moped goes 60mph.

so what performance could i expect?

The kart may be heavier and would have more rolling resistance than the moped, so it would most likely end up with reduced acceleration and top speed.

I'd probably try to find a larger engine, but your plan might just work out fine as long as you gear the kart correctly and dont expect to do much hill climbing. Can you post more info/specs/pics of the engine you wanna use?

Are you sure it's only 50cc? They make a GY6 in a 150cc version (long and short case) It's not a bad little motor and can be found in all types of scooters.

Based on the size scooter I'm going to take a guess and say its a 50 but it's just a guess. Should be able to do a search on the scooter and find out for sure.

Then again, if it truly can hit 60, it's possible that it's a 150. I have a Honda scooter with a 50cc and it will top out at about 40 with me on it (200lb)

Nothing wrong with having a little fun with it.

Now something you might want to consider before you try and move it over to a kart. All the electronics will need to be moved too so make sure you have a plan in place.

If it's just a 50cc, I don't think I would hassle with it but if you can confirm that it's a 150, I think it would be worth the challenge.
