Ok, I'm back again...
I picked up a derelict, modified, Murray Explorer go kart a few months back, and have been steadily working on it. It was to chopped and deteriorated to restore, but made a good candidate for a restomod.
When I got it, it had an 11hp electric start Briggs flathead on it.
I kept the engine. Just made a few tweeks.
My issue is with the 500 series TC on it. I'll be triple verifying engine to frame alignment tomorrow. However, I believe the jackshaft is slightly crooked.
I'll be getting measurements on that to confirm that it is actually crooked, and not just an optical illusion.
I managed to realign the pulleys somewhat today, but the spacing is obviously wrong since the belt rode up out of the driven pulley.
Another issue it has had was that it would try to take off while starting the engine. Could a slightly crooked jackshaft cause that? It's not as bad now, but it's still noticeable.
Here is a link to videos of the build.

Pictures available if they will help.
Update:
I found out today that what I had/have a 780 series torque converter to start with. I mistook it for a 500 series and ended up with a mismatched set. The drive belt however has been wrong since I got the kart.
Now I'm trying to decide;
1.) Do I get a new 780 driver, even though my engine is only 11hp.
2.) Do I get a 500 series driven.
3.) Do I swap out for a 40 series and get an fnr trans for it.
Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.
