Is this posible? some guy trying to sell me a 5hp "racing" motor from Ensor that he used to use. Here is what he sent me in email

"One is a Blockzilla built by Ensor it looks like a 5 hp but its pushing over 30 on the dyno. Also have a 16 hp Van Guard twin cylinder not sure what its putting out broke the dyno when we went for a full pull, all I can tall you its well over 50 hp. I have a Shadow and Coyote chassis both with roll cages body and top wings will 5 point racing seat belts. And a trailer of gears tires and pretty much whatever you need to race. The van guard was clocked averaging over 122 mph at Shippensburg and Silver Springs before they closed. Any other questions just ask."

Please tell me if any of this is posible? i figure the 16hp one might be.. idk about the 5hp one.

i think blockzillas are a larger displacement than a normal 5 hp so 30 hp could be possible. the guy does sound ike he know what he's talking about. it's not a "my friend told me that this thing is like 200 hp dude!" type guy on craigslist so i'd be inclined to trust him

Yeah I think he's telling you the truth about these engines but neither one would be practical for most karts unless you race at a track. Engines like these usually require using an external race kart starter ($250) to fire them em up, plus they most likely both run off Methanol that usually requires flushing the fuel tank, pump, lines and carb out after your day of racing. Most guys that race engines like these also changing the oil after every day of racing or even between every run cause the carbs rich Methanol mixture washes past the rings and contaminates the oil. If your considering a fast engine for a fun kart, a motorcycle engine would be way more practical.

If your still thinking about buying that Blockzilla, you'll find lots of info here: http://www.google.com/search?source...e=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GZAZ_enUS369US369&q=Blockzilla

What do you want out of the kart? Just daily fun on the streets / dirt, Or do you plan on racing.

You could get a bike or snowmobile engine if you wanted it bad enough, No matter where your at. Ebay, Sportbike forums, Ect.. Shipping shouldnt be TOO bad.

Dynos can be interpreted all you want. Those numbers sound stretched a little. A 20hp Vanguard with a racing cam, carb, billet rods/pistons makes about 45hp on my dyno. Can't say much about the flathead/blockzillas but i think they are in the 20-25hp range if you just spare no expense and go nuts. And they are time bombs built for dragsters.
