Bought a go kart frame last week for $60. Now found a briggs 5 hp for $100. First off, good deal? What clutch should i use, thats reasonable, that could get me going the fastest?

Yeah I was thinking about clutch, completly forgot about gears there. I looked into the Predator, the nearest harbor freight is about a hour away. And so is the briggs. Which would you guys recommend?

I think I'd go new, either the Predator or another clone... But only because I've decided I don't have the time (or skills) to tinker with old engines... And they seem to need lots of tinkering. So far I have mostly old engines so maybe I'm bias against them...

The one newer engine I have has been a dream compared to all the work I've put into the older engines...

Just my 2...

I agree with that, I really don't wanna have to keep tinkering. I just want something nice, realiable and that flys. And yes, I would appreciate any help with the engine, including but not just about clutch and gears, I could get, I really dont have any experience with them
