My spring break is coming up in a few weeks -- maybe i can re-start work then. One new added difficulty since my last post though is that I broke my leg in hockey, and I'll have a cast for 6 to 8 weeks. Hopefully I can still figure out a strategy to repairing this engine, otherwise it will have to wait until summer on May 16th, after finals week.
P.S. I took the advice of a lot of you guys, and before school took over, I took apart the engine to the point where I got the spark plug, its wires off, the carb mostly off, and the cylinder head off. Pretty cool to see the piston inside for the first time. I'm not messing with that, I just want to clean up the parts that need cleaning, by putting them in some Turpentine. I'm not experienced enough for alignment. Heck, i'm just taking pictures of everything I do and organizing the screws / bolts by size. I'm hoping if I encounter troubles in putting this back together, I can rely on you guys to help me out. I'm not familiar with the terms of the parts, but I would love to learn. I learn best by doing things unfortunately.
Thanks for all of your support so far!
