Hello all and nice forum. I am working on my first custom build and curious if anybody has suggestions for throttle cable control ideas for a 5.5 Intek Briggs engine. Since this kart will have some young riders, I intend to leave the governor working and intact. I have checked on ebay for throttle kits, and all the sellers tell me they do not offer a kit for an Intek engine. Only old flatheads and Animals. Attached is a picture of what I am working with..... Thanks in advance for any input!

Looks like that lever with the nut holding it on would be the throttle. Only one way to find out, eh?

The arm on the left is the governor, the one on the right is the throttle. On mine, I took off the throttle and drilled a hole in the governor arm for my cable. I used a throttle kit for a flathead Briggs. You will have to put a heavier spring on the governor as the one that is on there is too light.

It look like you already have a arm sticking out to set speed. loosen up the clamp on it so it can move freely, attach a cable and add a return spring.
