440 death machine opinions?

Talking to a guy about a 440 powered mini car. all I know about it is 440cc snowmobile engine powered and mini car... the duel points and pull cord are on his bench. if I work out a deal with the guy anyone on here cut there teeth on these 440’s?? I mean is it possible for the home gamer to put a coil/duel points set in and Get it timed or will it be a bit more complicated. I know on some engines you need a caliper and the head off and a test light.
