420CC with TC

I also went with the 420CC engine in my build. While understand
the TC 40 is pricey. With the help of the guys on this board
they pointed me to the knock off 40 at

Only for $104 no shipping.

The site owner was easy to email and ask questions.

I had to buy another jack shaft and 10T with bearings. Still out
only about 160.00 total.

Sorry to confuse. My original post was to inform the op that I bought a torque converter on ebay rated for up to 18hp that fits on the 420 and have been using it without an issue. I should have clarified it wasn't a 30 series.

That looks like the one I got, but mine had a mounting plate that I had to modify.

I counted the teeth today. It was 64 tooth. Sorry for the messy garage, we had a garage sale and I had to pull it back in between the merchandise

Could you point me in the direction of the TC you got with the mount plate? If I could have a 40 for 100 bucks, id definitely go the 420CC.

Also, I notice that's a manco. I have a 285 dingo (almost identical to yours, minus the full cage, cage only over engine area). How much modifying did you have to do to get it to mount up?

I'm curious about that too. The only one I've found is almost $400.
