i got a brand new electric start 420cc motor for $200 and a quad frame for $50, the frame was too small to fit motor so im in the middle of stretching it 8-10inch directly in the middle of the frame, ill include a pic for visual if interested

question is how would you guys build it for $1500 with torque in mind, i know it will already have alot since its a bigblock but more cant hurt i would think, and would be fun

thanks for any ideas they wud be highly appreciated!

I would run it right out of the box stock. Then worry about what you may need. You are going with a 40 series CVT, right?
Yeah a torque converter would be the plan but im for sure tearing it down and putting billet rod, higher lb springs, big cam, and whatever else but just wondering how other would build theres

Run it stock 1st.
Big blocks don't need to run more then 4500 rpm when it's got the right tune.

Power to weight ratio is gonna be ridiculous with that frame.

Life insurance up to date ????? ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜น ๐Ÿ˜†

i was thinking running it stock originally but no clue how to hookup those governor linkages i got this motor with half of it looks like

the power to weight ratio is the idea lmao its gonna be wild for sure but thats the plan, i want this quad as wild as possible with tons of torque
its 13hp stock i believe but would be cool to get that around 20-25 im gonna put together a list of parts and let me know what you think of it if u can
thanks

some of these prices may be usd and some cad im not sure, but ill worry about that when ordering

a rough list for an idea of the plan, i might try to find some roller rockers that dont increase lift as the cam is already juicy

no idea what id go with for a carb yet
i might go with a normal length rod instead

may be missing some stuff in the list but ill be adding/changing it as i go

what are your guys thoughts on this build?

$216 ARC 6774 Honda GX340/390 4.51" Billet Rod (+100")

$338 ARC 6693-E GX390 UT2 Electric Start Billet Flywheel (275-GX390-TSB) (reason for the flywheel is i think i can choose to use either the 4500 limiting coil or a non limiting coil, as im not sure what id go with)

$128 ARC 6693-RGK Honda GX390 Ring Gear Kit (6693-RGK)

$200 dynocams 275 Grind, Tool Steel Billet, Clone 13HP (275-GX390-TSB)

$24 nrracing Piston, 90mm Flat-Top for 420cc Hemi Predator (420PISTONKIT-HEMI) (says hemi but should work with non hemi fine, i may find a regular flatop instead though)

$258 nrracing Head, Racing; GX390, 420cc, & 460cc; Aftermarket Core (36mm/31mm valves single springs alum retainer, not milled) (HEAD-RACING-390-CLONE)

That cam don't have a compression release. It's gonna be hard on a factory style starter.

I got buddy that plays with the big blocks. Big CR, big head and carb methanol drag race motors, he uses a starter box to get em to fire off with those non compression release cams.

I promise you.....you will not be pull starting it, ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿ˜„

This will probably save you some time, headaches, and a bunch of money.

It'll be more then you will want or need.

Dover Power don't built junk.
The description has a nice parts list for back yard builder to follow.

Outlaw racing modified engine.

Jerry has no idea what chassis, track, weight, stagger, mini bike, gokart, drag racin, hill climbin, mud hole stompin, backyard fun time toy its going in.....or any other class this engine is gonna be used for, so he throws in the fuel pump for basically free, jus cas he's know........it's gonna fit YOUR needs.

Jus give him a call, you might learn a thing or 2 about these junky ol "turd motor" small blocks.
