I got this thing rolling!!!

Still a lot of work, I don't know if the rear suspension is strong enough, there are sounds when it rolls around, the back is sagging, etc. But it's rolling.

I drove it around the yard a bit hehe. I was worried the engine might not be powerful enough but now I'm not.

Got gas and brake pedals, put on a battery, and a gear box for D-N-R. Now I need to tune it up, mostly. The biggest problem is that the outer tire turns in more than the inner tire. But when I lift the front off the ground and turn the wheels, the inner tire turns more than the outer, just as it's supposed to. I did design it with akerman steering, so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. I'll just have to look at it and find out.

On that note, if i just used a more basic steering design, as pictured, instead of a rack and pinon, will that cause any problems when actually driving the thing?

Other than that, im going to get some dials, lights, etc.

Keep the rack!! That kart and tires are too big and heavy for GoKart style steering. You’d hate it. Looks great, how does it perform under heavy use?

That's what I figured. I'll just need to figure out what the deal is. But now I'm going to just goof off for a couple of days.

Under heavy use? I've just barely drove it around for now, but it works well and it's a really smooth ride. It will turn well when I steer within a certain limit, and I drove it around the roads and it all worked well. It can accelerate pretty well, too, all considered.
