Both my 40 series were doing exactly that. I went through and cleaned, lubed them in proper locations and it cleared right up. It may say to clean/lube every 5-6 hours but thats based on where/what you ride on and in. Dirt and dust gums them up quickly. Hardest part for me was getting the outer cover off with the huge welded nut.

Like this.......
High temp grease? ...... Really? :toetap05::toetap05::toetap05: smh.....
The one on the left , I use on tc's..... The one on the right, I use on chains. It comes out in a thicker coat and has a better hang time in my opinion. Meaning, it stays on longer.....

BTW..... Grease and rubber belts used for power transmission do NOT mix. Grease has detrimental effects....... You might as well just cut your belt, it you use grease in your tc........

axx3d did you ever figure out how to get the 40 series outer cover off?

Yup.. I used pb blaster and let it sit, I kept trying with a adjustable wrench on the nut and held the other one by hand. It was a bear but I got it off. Both of mine were a pain but I got them both.
