Im having a absolute nightmare with this 40 series setup from OMBWAREHOUSE. I've emailed the guy back and forth multiple times. His response is "I have no idea, since its not in front of me" after telling me a bunch of different things to do and I did with it still not doing what its suppose too.

If the belt is off go kart, it moves freely. If the belt is on it gets stuck in the driven pulley. Has a reverse spring installed.

Guy told me to change the springs in the driver, which hasn't made no difference since I haven't started it because I can't even rotate it with the belt on without it rotating the axle.

I even put a extra genuine comet belt on it I had, still stuck in driven pulley.

Any suggestions?

I have a 40 series comet setup from gopowersports on a different kart, zero issues.

Looks like the Driver is on backwards and the cup on the driven is on the wrong side of the slider button.

Your orientation of clutches looks good. I have the exact same setup ( from
OMB Warehouse ) and it is set up just like yours. The only advice that I can give you for now is that you remove the drive chain. This will at least let you trouble shoot without power going to the wheels. The engagement and gear ratio change will work ( when working ) with or without a load on it. With the chain connected it is impossible to turn the driven without turning the wheels. The small sprocket and the driven clutch are locked on to the jack shaft.

Looking again at your pictures, I do have some advice. I think your driven needs to be moved to the right, inward a good 1/4" or more. It looks like you have the outboard sheeves lined up. I was advised by the same guy you've been talking to,
Eric Adams the grey goat ( who knows a whole bunch more about this stuff than you and me combined ) to get the centers of the clutches while relaxed ( driver open and driven closed ) lined up. From what I see in picture #2 and #4 you have way too much space between the chain and the back side of the driven.

My brain filled before I could understand the proper mounting and orientations of the 40 series and the purpose of the yellow reverse wound spring.

I can’t seem to remember no matter how many times I seem to grasp it.

I guess I thought the yellow spring allowed both clutches to me mounted outboard. I thought the red spring required flipping the driveR inboard as it is in the photos.

Are you sure the guy at GPS didn’t mean to say to change the spring in the driveN unit? Swapping from yellow reverse wound to red?

Looks like the sprocket on the driven wont allow any more movement towards the engine.
It looks like the shoulder on that sprocket is a lot longer on one side than the other. Most sprockets have even shoulders. Both being like on the right side. He might have to purchase one. Not going to be difficult to find one. Your driver and driven are perfectly fine, and orientated correctly. The problem is alignment, not different springs.
