3hp predator problem

Ok i took one of these Japanese/Chinese kids go karts and rebuilt it to fit a predator motor, filp axel,new motor mount, clutch and brake system, and everything works fine there, now the engine runs fine while on the stand gose wide open everthing dose as it should, now when i put it on the ground the engine will not go wide open the throttle is wide open but its losing alot of rpm's it will go but not like it should it barley has enough to engage the clutch but it dose, any suggestions ?

What is the complete set up you're using? Sprockets, clutch & tires?

Yes 11t clutch 49t drive and 13in tires same gear configuration that what on it with the original motor

Your ratio is 4.45:1... You'll need to change the rear sprocket to get around 6:1... As a good start...about 66-72t.
However you might need to put a jackshaft to augment the ratio, as the tire size will limit the sprocket size for ground clearance.

The problem is that you're using a motor for weed-eaters.

I didn't off hand catch the low powered motor description...
A 212 will be much more pepy than that...

It's your gearing that's the problem. I would also get the larger engine if you can
