8 tooth jackshaft sprocket installed. I’m going to see if it holds before dropping $$ on a custom axle sprocket. If it holds then even better as I’ll retain ground clearance. I’ll test it out tomorrow or Tuesday. Also aligned the sprocket better. It was close before but not perfect. Chain held fine though. Should be perfect now.

I just got back from a quick ride with the 8t sprocket. Initial impressions are good. The additional torque is definitely noticeable both in take off and cornering. As long as the sprocket doesn’t crack then this is definitely the gearing needed for a buggy with 20” tires. Happy with the results.

Took her out again for a speed run. Kart hit 37mph. I’ll hook up a tach this week and see what rpm she is spinning. Essentially with the 8t I have lost no mph over the 9t and gained nice acceleration. (Obviously I lost top speed potential, but I couldn’t reach the potential anyway) If it was a more powerful setup it would be a different story, but there just isn’t enough power available to make the 6.67 gear ratio work to its full potential with a 450lb - 500lb total weight

Took the 3203 out for some climbing tests. It performed awesome. The gearing has no problem on the hills. Enjoy!

I am very interested in this thread.. I just picked up the same kart/buggy recently and am very excited bout upgrading it some. I don't want a new paint job or anything too expensive or i wont want to ride/drive it. I will of course do preventive maintenance and cleaning(tc etc.) but I want to rip it through the trails without concern for the paint or $300 engine. No fun if I have to worry about scratches/breaking stuff..lol

I rolled mine the second ride with fresh paint, it's a gokart! Use rattle can and you won't feel so bad, the one I have for my kids will be getting a professional paint job in "Barbie pink" because a friend of mine has like 3 extra gallons of it, I just have to prep it for him to spray, I'll keep that one tuned down and might save the paint a little bit.

She looks and sounds great! And you are absolutely correct, we do have similar taste in the color of blue used! Nice kart my friend!

Clear valve cover installed. This thing is neat....

You oughta run some colored oil through the engine, like Royal Purple or some of the red racing oils. Make beautiful splashes of color inside that valve cover...

The best thing about the clear cover is the barbed fitting for the breather tube. My tube would pop off all the time with the factory valve cover.
