it based on comets 2 speed but this is a three speed had to run another jackshaft because 1 clutch and 2 sprockets would never fit on crankshaft

i was thinking about doing that too. how many clutches does your configuration call for? including the engine/axle.

Remember that the lower range clutches need to disengage while the others engage...
Unless I didn't look closely enough at the diagram, which I didn't since automatics are crap

the two speed setups use one way bearings on one and anan axle clutch on the other, you would probably be better off with two one ways and an axle clutch

Bummer, well if you can't do it atm can you draw some better plans for those who are interested and have parts to spare?

this is in theory, a brilliant setup, and you can realisticly change the engagement rpm by changing the spring tension, or the weight of the clutches to conform to the engagement properties that you need, but the dis-engagement is the problem. if you can figure that out, you've got it made. even if you don't have a video cam, let us know how it turns out, if it works, it would be a sick setup for the rest of us to go by.

the one way sprockets can freewheel just like the rear sprocket setup on a bike
when this setup shifts(a clutch engages) the second jack shaft rpms pick up so the previous gear is is spinning the one way sprocket on the first jackshaft faster than the first jackshafts rpm
it's like if your on a bike and your coasting down a hill you can spin the pedals slower that the wheel but you can't spin them faster because it will force the the tire to spin faster

heres a computer generated pic rather than hand drawn
in theory this thing could out pull a tav because of the greater ratio variance
