hi everybody, just wanted to say thanks for all the knowledge I ve gained from reading this forum, you guys know what you are talking about!
Got a 2001 400ex but with 2 little boys, doesn't work so good, so it's kart building time:wai:
I have a 4' 6" x 8' frame with a 10 hp briggs, bullet lines torque converter, live axle, 25" rear tires and 22" front. just got my drive train and spindles in from ebay. hope to start working on it soon. Got some pics coming soon. how do i attach pics?
one question i have is how do most of you guys build your steering column? bearings or just two tubes slipped together?
thanks

Steering column comes down to application & personal choice. If you're building for racing or high performance then use a bearing setup. If it's just a backyard kart for the kids then tube should be fine.

Slip tube is much simpler to set up, whereas, a bearing setup is a lot more involved but, at the end of the day, it's up to you
