I went to their website and watched the video on how to identify the model, type, and code. Here are the numbers stamped on the housing:

143 784112 7278B

I can't find anything to match that on their site. It looks pretty old and google isn't helping :(

You dont use the whole number or there are some more numbers that you are missing if it was made by briggs it should be in there.

There should be a decimal point after the 143, or 143.784112.
That's not a Briggs number, but is a Craftsman number.
143 indicates it's a Tecumseh. Probably an H35.
If it were a Briggs, the first three digits would be 500.xxxxx.
500.xxxxxx = Briggs & Stratton.
143.xxxxxx = Tecumseh

Wow, thanks a lot. I bought it off of Craigslist and that's what the owner told me it was. He was obviously wrong and there is no markings showing what brand it is.
