3/4 shaft through a 40 series pulley

Is it hard to slide a 3/4 shaft through my 40 series driven pulley? I had to use a hammer to get the pulley off. Its for my yerf dog 3203.

I thought a 40 series was a 1-inch bore? or are some 3/4"?

Its like the key of the pulley isint cut right that slides in between the shaft.

Were talking about the driven unit, which I believe was available in 5/8", 3/4", and 7/8". The driver was available only with a 1", and I think a 1 1/8" bore.

Please measure everything with calipers (digital if you have them). Find out if it is the jack shaft, key, or the bore of driven that is over/under size.

well i imagine somting like a peice of dirt got into the keyway and stopped in coming off

then u hammered it off and the dirt was dragged out creating a bur on the engine shaft or the pully key

examine both carfully and feel for any high or rough spots then file them flat
but post pics first or u may file too much off and render a part junk
