How long should they last...black widow kart.136cc. 30 series knock off pulleys.our 2 carts are burning thru these bushings very quickly.everything is clean and dry lubed. The last bushing lasted two 20 min runs. We were on flat road. Also any reasons they would burn prematuely ?

What gear ratio are you running? Are the driver and driven lined up properly.

Post some pics. They will tell us more than words

Sprockets are 10t and 60t. Rear tires are 16x8x7. Has a knock off 30 series set up. The carts are very new. The pulleys look like they are lined up correctly. Im now thinking the preload of driven pulleys were both turned a full 1/2 turn. (2 valleyson the hub ).if i am wording that correctly.that the only thing i can think of.

The only time I have seen that happen is when the wrong belt (too small) was used for the center to center distance.

Google "30 series torque converter belt chart"

1) measure the center of drive(crank) shaft to center of Jackshaft (making sure shafts are parallel and you measure at a 90 deg angle to the shafts.

If you messed with the springs out of the box that may do it. Did you get the torque converters new? Out of the box they are already in the correct position.

The carts were fully assembled and full of fuel. We got them from sears.but i was checking stuff out and the driven pulley was indeed preloaded a full 180.(2 valleys on the hub ). On both carts. I reset them to 1. Rode a little today and didnt fry the bushing yet.but it is a little more sluggish on uphill grades. Right now thee spring is on the middle hole. Im going to try the third. But im still wondering in general how long do these bushings last if well maintained ?

The bushings should last a really long time.

Have a look at this link to see if you have the right belt

I have a tav knockoff on my barstool and we have 2+hrs according to the hourmeter and everything is still like it was new. I hope that helps. And we are running a lot more HP than recommended also.

So honestly I haven't seen them go out unless they are really old............like 15 years old and sitting outside old.
