Shish! Bet you are sore today! Shyt happens and glad you seem to be ok.

Just my 2 cents, but not a fan of the music. I know it is all personal preference. Cheers mate. :cheers2:

I give up thinking too hard about the music. I was using the recommended/ popular songs but I think I used a couple songs more than once on different videos. So now whatever springs to mind at the time. Do you prefer johnny cash?

In America we call that eating sh!t.

Looks like it took the air out of ya.
You look ok, but its back to the welder for the kart.
Yeh, I'm still a bit stiff this morning. I was pretty relieved my glasses didn't get broken.

If I put a roll bar on the kart then I should put a seat belt on as well I guess.

The new shocks I ordered for the rear arrived. Seems I didn't do my research properly, the motor will clash with the shock when the suspension is compressed 😟

I'll try remember to do a drag race on the weekend but here's a written comparison.

Kart 1 (the little one)
-Handle bar controls
-60km/h
-Relatively high torque
-QS138 v3
-nd72680
-DKD display fitted
-20s4p (72v 24ah) lipo battery from rc packs
-Peak was around 12kw with l-ion but haven't tested this with the lipo battery
-After run - battery and controller lukewarm, motor very warm (maybe even toasty...??)

It didn't take long to get used to the handlebar and controls but once I did I almost prefer it over the conventional controls of a go kart. This kart is quite squirrel'y and really well suited to the tight/narrow trails. It feels a little unnerving at top speed (which isn't even that fast) because the frame is so small and light. I guess it could feel better with a suspension upgrade but the basic spring set up is relatively plush and comfy for the trails I use. I have bent, straightened and braced the rear axle carrier/tube. I've replaced / upgraded the bushings on the suspension front and rear. I've bent and straightened the steering column. The tires (145/70x6) are okay on gravel but they dig in to the soft sand so like you say wider would help. Overall it's super fun and I don't have much fear of crashing at super speed or the kart rolling on top of me etc... It's like the happy balance of size / cost / fun ratio.

Kart 2 (the bigger one)
- standard gokart controls
- currently geared for 80km/h but will slow it down when parts arrive
- "feels" like slightly less torque than the small Kart but still has traction issues at full throttle
-QS165 v3
-nd72890
-no display
-10× 10ah 72v l-ion battery packs ordered from china.
-Peak around 18kw
- after run battery is lukewarm, motor and controller are getting toasty.

Aside from the different controls this one feels different from the other Kart in that it is bigger, heavier, longer wheelbase and bigger wheels. It is planted and more stable, particularly at speed but not so much when it's bouncing around. It drifts better though there are caveats to that. Drifting around at speeds over 60km/h is exhilarating but the kart feels a little narrow. It's longer than the other kart but not hugely wider. There's currently no roll bar on this so in the event the kart rolls over the driver (at any speed) it'll hurt like **** (just ask me how I know 🫣 ) Coming off at top speed..... just don't... and no I haven't done that. To make matters worse I'm still not 100% on the steering, at full lock the inside tire rubs on the foot rest. Since the steering is now a rack and pinion it doesn't have the speed and sensitivity of the smaller kart. So when the back end slides out it can be a little difficult to keep in front of it (counter / corrective steering). The bigger wheels do float over the sand better and the rears are near bald. The rear suspension sucks. Sometimes when climbing out of sand the rear carriage bounces as the sand caves in. I'm still working out how to use these shocks I bought for it. Also hoping things will change a little for the better when parts arrive and I can gear it for lower speed. I've got chunky new wheels for the back. I'm reluctant to put the new wheels on with current gearing because the controller is already getting toasty. Loading the motor with grippier tires might be the last straw... Overall it is your typical (car) format for driving and also what you would typically expect when it comes to bouncing around the seat in an offroad gokart. Do I like it better than the other one...? I admit I like the speed this one currently goes but I'm also **** scared I'm gonna seriously hurt myself at that speed. But aside from that one thing, I think I prefer the little one.

Now preferring one kart is one thing but owning and playing with both is even more fun. I won't say they compliment each other but they are different enough to appreciate the pro and cons of the other. Who knows, maybe my preference will change after I re-gear the big one and put new wheels on...

Hope that's not too much of an essay for you. Had to really think about it 🤓 🤔

After work I did some stuff to this kart. Changed the gearing, fitted new tires on the rear and managed to fit the new shocks on the rear as well. Took it for a test drive and I was pretty happy with the changes. I was about to test top speed when the throttle stopped responding. I think a wire had come loose. It took a while to walk back and get my ute then go back and pick up the kart. The biggest challenge was figuring out how to strap it to the ute...
