I have installed the new universal join, now there is no play in the steering. I would not recommend using a universal join from a socket set, they suck

I almost did that on my kart but ended up repositioning the wheel and extending the steering shaft

I'm kind of lost.... what have you done with the steering in brief?

The seat belt mounts look very nice, hows the back bash plate coming along?

he origonally used a uni joint from his socket set on his steering and left the steering setup as close to the origonal as possible
then he rotated the steering 90* for more leg room
he then purchased a steering rack with the intention of putting it on
he then scraped that idea and left it as it was
but he replaced the socket uni joint with the one on the steering rack to eliminate play

haven't done anything with it recently. I've been concentrating on brakes and throttle. I am using a solid link for brakes and a cable/solid link for throttle.
I put a turn buckle in the brakes so that i can adjust them, just gotta finish a few guides and brakes will be finished.

Like your thinking, many people don't allow for adjustment, need a pod filter for that engine, $30 at Auto One

i have already got a pod filter for it, looks a **** load better than the air box that was on it.

Sounds like its coming together nicely, the warehouse might have some cheap digi cameras.
