Hey everyone, I have brand new 4 stroke 272 briggs and stratton off a craftsman select 28'' 2 stage snower. What clutch/tc, chain size etc do I need to get started..I'm planning on using on a baja motorsorts trax tx65 frame

What kind of engine is it? What did it come off of? What size is the pto shaft (diameter)?

Get all that pulley nonsense off the shaft and see what you're dealing with.

I have that same kart. The stock sprocket is a 60 tooth and uses a # 420 chain. Figure out what size the shaft is on your engine, as others have suggested. If it's not 3/4" or 1", forget it. You will never find anything to fit. Once you verify the shaft size, buy a 30 series torque converter and install it. I have owned mine since 2008. Have run everything from the stock 196 to a built 224. It's a good kart and has held up well, but you won't get 100' trying to use a centrifugal clutch.

Cool, does yours have a hex live axle? Seems like some mods were done at some point.

Some mods done at some point. Boy I guess so. The hex axle was never part of that kart. To the best of my knowledge, Baja Motor Sports never used the hex axle. Mine has independent rear suspension. A 60 tooth sprocket on a hub, with
U- joints on either side and short round axles going to each side. I bought mine brand new in a crate, so I know it's never been altered.
