****ty pic, but it shows what I've accomplished so far (or a lack of progress thereof). A 90min shop class 2-3 times a week is not as much as it sounds.

Tacked in the jackshaft, and started the silencer mounts. Built some clamps to attach the sliding motor mount to the frame (without drilling holes in the main members), so that is at least bolted in now. Got most of my #50 sprockets in, so I just have to remember to take them in next week and fit them.

I got a bunch of stuff welded solid Monday in shop, then loaded the kart up again so I could work on it here over spring break.

silencer mounted

I redid the seat mounts, moving it forward several inches but also tilting it back. It feels like I stretched the kart a lot compared to the seat sitting flat. Also stretched the steering shaft to get the wheel away from the 'cage crossbrace.

I can't go outside anymore...went to Harbor Freight for grinding wheels and came back with these...

Slow progress is slow...
Finished up the wiring a while ago, and got the majority of the welding done.
Need to figure out a chain tensioner.

Been working on mounting the rad lately, down to getting a fuel tank and carb figured out, and some small misc engine parts.

You can kind of see it in the last pic; I used the original foot shift lever (mounted upright) and added a tube that extends forward, and has a piece of handlebar tubing welded upright onto that. I'm going to put the clutch lever and a grip on there when I'm done.

Haven't updated in quite a while. **** close, need a carb and fuel tank. Also need to have a pro weld the outlet back on my radiator, tried to TIG it myself in shop, fvcked it up nicely due to having barely any gas left. If you look closely you can see the upper radiator support. I also came up with a chain tensioner, can't really see it very well, but it is basically a tube bolted to a pillow block riding on the jackshaft. There is an idler sprocket at the end of the tube, and at the other end is a lever and a spring to allow for tension throughout suspension travel.
I also added the rad overflow bottle, as well as some heat/chain guards. Didn't take any specific pics, but you can see them if you look closely.

You should see my stepbrother's room...Every single wall is covered with signs my stepdad picked up.
I'm surprised no one has commented on on Tony Hawk, the weird face hanging from the shelf, or the creeper frog on the back of my trash can....L O L

They are angled back for rake (takes a hard hit better) and offset for caster at the spindle. Trust me, they are supposed to be where they are.

So. I had to cut off the outlet on my radiator and turn it to get the hoses to route nicely. Couldn't TIG it at school (we were out of gas and the teacher wasn't going to buy any more for the year) so I took it to a fab shop. The guy migged it together, took it home and put it on, leaks. Took it back to him, he welded the pinhole, leaking from a new spot now. :mad2:
Is there any sort of radiator sealant I can apply from the outside? I refuse to run any of that stop-leak sh!t through my motor and wreck it. Should I just JB weld it or something? Anyone know of a product that will stand up well??
