Hey
I am living oversea's in china giving me access to whatever sized lifan engine I desire, and I am currently eying a 250cc Watercooled 14 foot pound of torque and 17hp engine, and a 300cc engine which I have forgotten the specs of. I am using a single full size racing seat, and I plan on using a diff rear end from an ATV, but all of this will be new parts. I am going to go a bit heavier than what I would really like, but i have a full sized racing car seat that I think I will put into the kart, so it will be a single seater. I would be happy to get 60 miles an hour outta this thing, but I hope it will be fun. I have already kinda started, gotta Lifan Catalog, 45 feet of steel for 8 dollars :p, and a welder. At the moment, I am going to build this on a balcony as i have nowhere else to build it, but in aughust I plan on moving to a larger house with a garage and pool, so it should be okay by then. Anybody suppose how fast I could go with this setup? I think I could get some decent speed, would love it if I could get up to 80 or 90, but I think that is asking a bit too much. If you wanna idea about what kinda seat it is, just think of a Sparco seat from nascar. :wai:

Ohhh yeah if this means anything I am going to have full front suspension using long shocks from the front of a motorcycle, that are split up into singles for each side, as well as having a swing arm for the back attached to the seat. If you wanna rough idea of what I want it to look like, think of an F1 or closer a A-Mod, with ALOT less power :(

Lol okay I explained a little poorly, The rear swingarm will attach to the main chassis under the frame, and I plan on having a rollbar going around the seat which the shocks can attach to that, not the actual seat. I was wondering how a differntial makes it less fun? They are the only types of rear ends I can buy here, with diffs, and if you guys reccomend a live axle I would have to get it this summer..

Ohhh in China the amount of scooters are insane so we have our own scooter lanes here, and I plan on just driving around town in it. Nobody will really say anything as a only about 10% of the scooters here are actullay legal, and as long as I can keep up with scooter speeds (40MPH) I will be happy. I was wondering is it possible to get a go kart registered in America as a custom vehicle, and be able to plate it? I plan on moving back in a couple of years, so I was wondering if I could drive it around there.

Yeah lol I hope so too... What's the main difference why you guys would reccomend a Live axle over a Diff?? I always thought that it's much easier to turn with a diff than a live axle. The only thing I can think of that a live axle is better for is possibly burnouts.. which are hard on a diff I think, but I really wouldn't mind. I know that this diff can be tuneable with different weight's of oils, and I got a quart of oil for my RC cars for diffs that is almost like glue, and I use it to lock up the diff's in my rc cars, and If I really want to I think i could lock this diff up. I will add a pic of the rear end soon from what the seller sent me.:bannana:

yeah they say live axel is funner but really there is no reason to get a live if you are only going to drive on road. Iam pretty sure you will be able to keep up with any scooter if you have a high end 250cc engine.

Okay cool, Unfortuneately the 300cc engine is 990 bucks, the 250 is 550, but a 236.6cc also watercooled is 250, and I think I have found what I want to use right there. I am going to place an order for it soon and should be at my house in a couple of months, as it's factory direct
