Well, I’m not going to race it tonight. It’s so hot that they are having a hard time keeping moisture in the track. I made a few laps to try it out, and it just burns the tires all the way down the straightaway. I’m still carrying so much speed when I get to the corner that I am having a hard time getting around it. If the track comes around I’ll make a few more laps, but for the current track conditions it’s waaaaay too powerful.
This little guy is nasty. It’s far and away more powerful than my orange kart.

Tonight didn’t go exactly as planned. After the sun got off the track it came around and I led the whole heat race, but blew it on turn 1&2 on the last lap and ended up second.I decided to take the black kart out and see what the big motor felt like on a good track, and it still spun on the straights, but not so bad that it wasn’t flat hauling the mail going into the corner. It was wicked fast. The problem arose when I went into the corner way too hot and it bounced a few time and jacked my ribs up to the point that I couldn’t race the feature.
This motor is stupid fast, and I’m very happy with it.

Well, this is probably going to be my last post on this thread, and on these types of engines in general since I kind of feel like I’m talking to myself. I guess stage one is just way cooler than an engine that will burn the tires all the way around the racetrack.

So we took it out again last night to let my daughter race it for the first time, and she’s scared of it. It will spin the tires at any point, and you have to be very delicate with the throttle to get it to do right.
I played on it after the races and can go around the entire 1/10 mile dirt oval sideways, I’ve never seen a small block go kart engine that runs like this one.
I was in third last night in the feature when we got a yellow, and the guy that was running 6th somehow got put in second on a restart and I thought “no big deal, I’ll just pass him” so I didn’t make a fuss about it. I had been on the brakes on my orange kart to keep from running over 1st and 2nd, and felt like as soon as I got a hole I could put my kart in that this win was in the bag.
Well, the guy that got put from 6th to 2nd spun in front of the guy in front of me and while he managed to avoid him with minimal damage, I did not. I T boned him hard, and my daughter came around the corner and hit me hard enough to turn up on he side. My kart is all busted to pieces, and I’ll have to rebuild both nerf bars and the entire body.

How does one screw up by putting a guy probably near dead last up near the front of the pack like that? I know for sure I would have complained the whole time.

Well, I'd definitely rather have an engine like yours than a stage 1 for sure!!! Of course, all I could do with it is burn the tires up running around the subdivision, but I'd be happy with that too!!! I just can't bring myself to pouring that kind of money into a small engine just to **** off the neighbors. Not right now anyway. But I do enjoy following your progress on yours. But I can follow elsewhere as well. Hope to see your kart back together soon.
