Hi all. I just picked up a Manco magnum 606 with no engine on it. I am looking to pick up a predator engine for it, but the 420cc won't fit real easily (I am looking for mostly bolt on stuff, not interested in fabricating much). I really don't care about top speed, I am just wondering if the 212cc predator engine will have enough torque to take me (and sometimes a passenger) up some reasonably steep hills I have at my farm without too much struggle? I can't find any posts commenting on the actual power output capabilities.

Any comments? (I am open to modifying somewhat aswell.. removing the govenor and muffler, replacing the air filter etc..)

Thanks in advance!

I had a vortex which is similar to that. Not sure what you mean by reasonably steep. How long? What angle? Those matter...
You can start with gearing 1st. Smaller jack shaft sprocket and larger axle sprocket. While you have the driven unit off you can also adjust spring tension or order a stiffer spring ( which keeps it in a lower gear longer.

Then to get more torque and power you can remove governor, get air filter and header pipe.
Start there...
And that should get you up a 45 degree or better incline...

This is a 6:1 ratio with 18" tires and 7" driven unit (30 series). Predator engine swap.

It might struggle to climb steep hills w/2 people but it is great for moderate hills and anywhere relatively flat.

Oh awesome. I actually have already watched your videos on youtube, but I thought you had a 40 series tc and a 420 engine..

anyway, my hills are not even close to that steep so I am sure I am all good (I am running the same gear ratio and tc, and I think I have the same size tires or very close)

Thanks!
