I have a predator 212cc engine that will crank and run just a minute then dies. Does anyone have any thoughts?

How about some back story.
Did you just buy it?
Has it sat in a pile of junk in back of the barn for 5 years?
Is it stock, or modified?
Does it have fresh gas?
I'm gonna bet it needs a good carb cleaning.

Probably fuel problems. Clean the carb and make sure the fuel lines look OK and aren't perished

Does it RUN run, or just sputter and chug run?
If it RUNS and then dies , you've likely got a clogged up float valve or your float won't open fully. Or your shutoff valve isn't open fully. Your engine is using fuel faster than the bowl is filling.
