However, any forum member here who pays list price ($119.99) or more for this engine is a chump.

Be sure to seek out item #60363 for the famed Hemi engine when you have the coupon in hand.

Also, be on the lookout for 212 cc Predators as low as $94.99 on special HF holiday sales and such. Or if you're especially adventurous--even lower bargain prices for Predators on that famous auction site...

EDIT: thanks for the heads-up though. We all need to be reminded of the everlasting 212cc 6.5 hp engine sale. We get new members all the time and the information goes stale.

Oh man, that's a steal. I need an engine so I'm feeling pretty lucky. I'm gonna grab this one from HF to keep this momentum going. But next build I'm gonna look to see all that's available. What is shipping like when you grab it off said site? Thanks for the heads up.

Hellion : ha, I stick out like a sore thumb.. im having a blast grinding to bare steel tho (only half serious) ... gonna start a build thread once I get some real progress going.

That's unbelievable!! 80 buck$ shipped?! That engine would cost me ****ed near that much to ship to someone via UPS, etc.
I also ordered that engine last night on HF site, with a bunch of other stuff including a small hydraulic jack (also heavy) and shipping was $6.95 for entire order . ~~ I don't know how they do it .

I am certainly NOT a mechanic. I hope they are swappable.
I've looked for 'tutorials' or instructions on what steps to take but no luck finding yet.

Yep it was $80! I was shocked to see it too...

After I ordered it and it shipped I saw where the ad had been removed from eBay. I opened a case thinking it would never arrive, which it did it TWO days. They had to lose money shipping something that heavy from California to Ga in 2 days. But I don't care, like BBQJoe said, it still got here

****, well that's wesome guys... I got mine the day after this post.. at HF. is what I paid and I was happy to do so ... Like I said, I'll be watching for those guys looking to Dump a load off on eBay for my next 212.

Oh yeah, 100 bucks IS a steal when comparable Honda, Briggs, Kohler(?), Subaru and other engines from 'boutique' manufacturers are three times as much money.

Did you nab a Hemi Predator? The other dead giveaway besides the item number is the cast aluminum valve cover (dull and pebbly like an iron skillet).

These guys who got the über bargains on Fleabay didn't have a choice of engine type so they all got non-Hemis I think.

Yessir. All they had was the Hemi engines. I suppose I really lucked out cause I wouldn't have known which was which before joining this forum. I've been doing a lot of digging and price comparing all kinds of parts/options... i suppose all that's left is to start a new thread once some of the parts get here. Thanks for all the help thus far everyone. I may just start it with what I've done so far and see what everyone thinks of the parts I've chosen and the fabrication I've done.. thanks again Hellion

Off Evilbay, I think those guys said the shipping was free.

Shipping from Harbor Freight dot com is like under $10.00 or some crazy lowball price for the lower 48. I've always walked in the store myself and it cost me shoe leather and some namby-pamby guzzoline.

Do note however I was going through my past ebay purchases (a few weeks after buying it) and saw where ebay had taken down the listing. Something about "we had to remove this listing, for blah blah reason"...had I been smart about it, I would have opened a claim. The tracking number never worked, the engine just showed up at my house about a week after the order. I bet ha I opened a claim, ebay would have refunded me, since the seller was obviously a scam of some sort. I bet they were "hot" engines lol

And no, (I'll have to check again to be 100% sure) but from what I remember it's not a hemi. Still is a sweet little engine though

I believe there is a 420cc predator with a Hemi chamber.
