I found a motor! :wai: i recently purchased a old junky go kart and it had a small 2hp briggs with a tiny shaft smaller then the "normal" small shaft so i will have to get an adapter and im going to get a max torque clutch for it and stuff but mainly i have to make the motor look good :p its got five thick layers of gross paint on it so its going to be a pain ill get some paint stripper and get to work.

That is a bird duck. The Sears will have a 1" frame, gussets on the neck, and a different seat mount (yours wasn't the original one anyway) You can squeeze a 5hp in. When I got mine, they had notched the frame to clear the sparkplug. They could have drilled new mounting holes and moved the engine to fit but oh well. I just sleeved it with some pipe. You would do good with a nice 3.5 Briggs. I have been trying different setups trying to get mine to the exact rat rod look. I think I might trike it. Since your bike is a Duck, get a decoy and turn it into a fuel tank.

Thanks luke thats awesome i love that briggs you have the Cadillac badged one! So progress!!!!!
Working on making the engine look cool but it runs and drives great. I used gas to get some paint off the cover the plan is bare metal clear coat and paint the exhaust carb and block hi temp black. While the tank and cover are bare metal and im leaving the frame "patina" because it looks good. Just gotta make a new seat also how do i hook up a kill switch

how do i hook up a kill switch

I think they "grounded" the spark plug wire, on them old engines, to "shut 'em off"

Many times it was just a bent piece of metal, bolted to the engine , that was pushed against the end of the spark plug, grounding it out.

…& IIRC sometimes it would give ya a "zap" :ack2:

Should be able to just run a wire from frame to a "kill switch"
…& another wire from the "kill switch" to your spark plug wire :cheers2:

This way, when the switch is "switched" on (closing the circuit)
...the spark plug gets grounded out (& won't spark/fire) :2guns:

Thanks for the feedback! I need to replace the spark plug wire anyway so i guess i would put the wire there and it should work. Also almost all the paint is off the cover and i stripped paint from other parts already. Also i found the stickers! They where under a bunch of paint and the gas didnt damage them

Did you complete the build ?

Or just fix it and flip ??

Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk

I completed it exept for seat and paint then someone stole it, took the seat chain and theottle broke the frame and i rewelded and traded for a robron frame because i hoped someone could care for it. I simply gave up after it being stolen and all
