Got the new floor fully welded and also got the new tubes in for the 3 pedal setup instead of the standard 2 setup. And I have more clearance now that my seat mounts are lower which means more sleeker roll cage design I hope. And it’s a roller again also. I’m kinda stuck now without a engine. Most of the welding is done minus the rear section it looks like and some little stuff.

Took my grinding wheel and cut slots in the sheet metal to weld it back in the center pieces. Only reasonable and easy thing I could think of. Worked out great also.

Well I opted for the cheaper engine I’ve told you about prior. It’s a 600cc Kawasaki zx6r. Will pick it up tomorrow. It was only $300 so I’m not complaining. I can always buy a bigger one later or just add a lot of boost to this one. Hahaha.

That's called plug welding, and it's perfectly acceptable and widely used for attaching sheet metal to structural elements in the middle of a sheet.

Well I picked up my “600” today. Hahaha.

Remember no replacement for displacement so we can double my cc numbers now. And it has work with aftermarket cams so it should make 200hp easy on motor alone with no power added. Now who has a turbo laying around ?

And got a piranha from desert karts for something later on. And a trike to work on for a guy at work.

****. Needs moar drag radial! I wonder if the rear swing arm pivot point needs something more than some tabs with a bolt through it. Something to distribute that load more.

I was going to suggest drain holes in the floor pan. But something tells me this thing will not see much the elements.

Gonna change the rear shocks later. This is just to roll it around with.

Got the swingarm fully welded and it’s rolling. The engine is sitting there as I gotta order some welding tabs and the front engine mount.

Be sitting down when you figure this up. But I’m running a 16 tooth front with a 36 tooth rear and my tires have a circumference of 66”. Equals to about 178mph at redline in 6th. Which believe it or not is slower than stock gearing !

You have made some awesome progress!! Is it just me or the camera angle, but are those shock tabs not a little flimsy looking?

Also.....I was wondering...why did you extend the rear so far out when the engine only takes up about the first half of the swingarm? Is that for the sprockets etc?

I am gonna make a bar around the engine for better shock placement when I get the new top of the cage welded on. The rear shocks are temporary to roll it around with.

And the rear was extended longer than I needed it to be. I planned on moving the rear axle up and using the excess for a rear bumper of some sort. But after looking at it, I can’t move it too much or else the sprocket and chain won’t have the clearance it needs. I’m also placing the fuel tank over the axle so it won’t look as long when I’m done. I’m also debating building a wing for the back also to offset the looks.

Better put a wing on the front too, to keep it on the ground whilst accelerating.

Well I got to go get a foot of flat plate and tubing to finish the front mount. But the rear tabs are tacked and in spot finally. And I got the new floor sprayed with bed coating to protect it and keep my feet from not sliding around a lot. These rear tires are 22x10x10 and sure are looking inadequate every time I see them. Might have to go bigger me thinks.

Well got the mounting plate welded up. And retapped the outside bolt holes to mount it too. The guy before me broke the bolt then turned around and broke a drill bit off in the left middle hole. So I got 3 bolts holding it now which is actually stronger than before and it spreads the weight more evenly also. Got all the tabs tacked in and ran out of welding wire. Go figure !
