I don't get what makes this 197ml/cc engine 16HP and the 212cc Predator only 6.5HP???
Is it the Cam? Carb? Stroke? Compression? Valves?

All of the above?

I've been thinking about this for some time.

My plan has been decided but will probably change 100 times.

The buggy will get TWO new 212cc Predators with Two 30 series Torque Converters!
6:1 gearing and 18.5" Tires should give me plenty of low and top end.

2 x HF #60363 Hemi Predator 212cc = $220-$265
2 x 30 Series Torque Converters = $160
1 x #41 60T Sprocket / Hub = $40

This may make the alternator a challenge.
The axle may have two sprockets, brake rotor, alt pulley...???

This is what I want. Now I need to find something to do with the engine I am about to finish. Hopefully I don't blow it up in the next 12 months.

Double the RPM of the 212 probably helps a great deal. Also, 2 hp of it is probably BS lol.

Ok I get that, but why does it turn at 8k.
Same things you'd do to a normal clone to get 8k?

I'm just guessing here, but I did look into it after seeing your link.

But yes, that's my guess, more compression, more cam, more valve spring.

It's apparently a knock off of the Honda XR200 motor. A viable option other than the manual clutch.

I plan on keeping the 60T #41 that is on there and adding another.
Lets just hope I don't go all Bob on these engines. It was expensive enough to learn the basics with one!

---------- Post added at 12:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:02 PM ----------

I did think about connecting the two cranks via a common jackshaft. Synced exactly 180 degrees out of phase.

Ok The engine I'm working on will go on a minibike with TC!

6000 RPM
5.4:1 (TC overdrive gives 4.86 : 1)
16" Tires
58 MPH MAX

Dual Engine Kart
5400 RPM
6:1 (TC Overdrive gives 5.4 : 1)
18.5" Tires
55 MPH MAX

Fair Race or No?
With Mods, and Money... Eventually the kart will win that race!

With my knowledge, skills, and limited, specific experience....
Combined with a desire for two awesome vehicles...
AND wanting to make use out of what I already have....

This seems to make the most sense to me.

I just wish I didn't order the pulley for the axle to run the alternator. Now I'd rather used a jackshaft with the two TC driven pulleys and the alternator pulley.

And then with the battery and changing system... We can work on crazy ideas to get that HP back...
Air Conditioned Intake?
NOS solenoid?
Electric Supercharger? lol
Smog Pump Draw Though Supercharging?
Methanol Inection?

lol

I should work on the brakes sometime soon?

Looking for a style of Mini Bike that can take a 16" Drive Wheel with band brake / 54t #41 sprocket assembly.

I guessing 10" is wide enough to fit the wheel assembly but not sure how to fit wheel with the engine / TC.
I think it will need a large off road mini bike frame but not really sure.

I'm looking for frames I know will work.

This looks nice! Trail Sport ts-500
$450 complete with TC and brakes. Just need to put my Predator on there. Save's me in long run, I think because I only need to order 1 TC for the kart.

Shopping List

$1250 to finish both. It's scary that I put this together and am buying a mini bike. Really shouldn't be buying anything right now.

Just the bike. I can ride it as is for a while, with MY engine on the buggy!

The other $850 will have to wait!
