What kind of heavy duty throttle cable is that you use.? I am tired of the cheesy bicycle crap, even the mini bike one I got from MFG was junk. Is that Motorcycle type stuff or what?

Thanks chancer! This engine will turn 8600 to 8700, the throttle cable that I am using is for a snowmobile I buy them on ebay, indeed this engine sounds cool and I love this engine it is my favorite of all my rotary engines and it pulls pretty darn good, it ought to move out really good with this kart most certainly with a little lower drive ratio and lighter construction.

I think I will go with this color as it goes pretty well with the satin black inner wheels and polished and brushed surfaces of the stainless steel and aluminium. Here one can see that I am dressing up these wheels in the lathe and removing a warning that was cast right into the rim.

You did mention that color indeed, this is a burgundy that I think would look good and my wife likes it too, thank you for the compliment. You will have to post some pictures of your little girls kart after you paint it.

Thank you sir! You, chancer, and slidewayz gave me some insight with some color combos that I had not thought about and they were good suggestions, most of the time I just think up things myself and I was kind of stuck in my mind about colors so I took your gentlemen's advice all to some degree and kind of mixed them together. Funny thing is that my truck is almost the same color! Plus the insight of Hot Rodder's and car nuts takes credence to me as they have seen some paint schemes in their times.

One thing I was wondering about. Your seat mounting points. I see some washers welded to your frame. Was that the final mounting point. On several of my racecars for various mounting points (including the seat) I would take some square tubing and cut it at a 45* or more angle. That opens up an area that you can drill a hole then use that as a mounting point and tab, that has basically built in gussets. I made a sketch of what I am trying to explain. Hope it makes sense.

Thanks Slide! Those washers are .125 thick and they are welded on both sides, the seat has threaded inserts molded in the mounting holes and they would rip out there before the washers ever would tear away from the frame plus I have the seat rails tight against the seat base and the base is wedged between the rails, I am welding with Argon / Co2 mix with .025 wire which I was told by a welding salesman friend of mine who was certified to weld on Indy cars and he did that the Argon / Co2 mix with wire is 30% stronger than flux core wire and that is all I have welded my frames with without any failures so far. My other karts have had a flat bar welded along the frame which is indeed stronger than this set up and I am just trying to cut down on some overall weight of this kart and I will keep an eye on them because I do a lot of testing and punishing with these karts. I too have had race cars and I have made similar mounts out of square and rectangular tubing of the type you have sketched up, double tough and light weight. I have two lathes and a mill and many attachments,tools,vices,cutters, etc, and I don't know what I would do without them! I am all self taught and I have enjoyed them very much for years, one of my other passions that I do with my lathes and mill is make internal combustion engines from scratch but that is another subject.
