Hi,
New member here. Just bought a (supposedly) 2012 hammerhead 250cc go kart. Don’t know too much about it, I typically work on cars. The engine was removed by previous owner and carb and other parts taken off. I have (I believe) most or all the parts to it but will definitely have to replace quite a bit as it was left out in the weather. Main thing I’m confused about is how and where is the carburetor hooked up to the motor? I can’t find any good pictures so if anyone is able to upload pics of how it’s connected that would be very helpful. Going to be posting pictures of the rig tomorrow and will continue updating on progress

Pics first, questions later. You can upload photos directly to the site.

In fact, I would bet that if you posted photos and no verbiage whatsoever (or maybe typed just a question mark), the members here would automatically tell you to “put tab A into slot B” and/or whatever it took to make your pile of parts whole again. :ROFLMAO:

I’ve cleaned and rebuilt brakes, replaced the old brake master, repaired the radiator (the outlet pipe was broken off) and remounted the engine, as it was sitting in the front seat when I bought it. I have to buy a new ignition coil though, there wasn’t one when I purchased. Where does it get mounted? Also does anyone know if is this a gts250, ss250, gt250 or standard 250? And I’ve been looking at parts on amazon, are there any wiring harnesses on there that work for this? I will have a lot more questions as I continue the rebuild

Noticed the pictures show up as attachments. How would I get them to post directly into the post so nobody has to click on links to view?

I suspect it is because they are 4284 × 5712... pretty massive. It might be as simple as a forum setting on our end to allow it. You could set your camera to take smaller pics but attachments or opening in a separate window is alright.

No one really knows these karts, er BUGGIES because they are made in China, the companies make changes like the wind and there's just a lack of info as you are finding out. Then again, most here are aware of the dime-a-dozen air cooled GY6 engine buggies, those are a-plenty.

Reposting a few of your pics here. They are reduced to 75%...

EDIT: I'm waiting on Karttekk. I think he'll know the particulars at least about the wiring harness. The wiring harnesses never last long on these. The karts need garage storage at the very least, or a lean-to to keep the UV light at bay.

From what I can come up with, the engine is a common Honda CN250/Clone shortcase as Whitetrashrocker stated. I don't think it matters which Hammerhead 250 model you have if in fact that's what you have. They appear to have the same engine. The coil should be in a black electrical box near the top of the engine along with the CDI. If you can, look for stickers, decals, stamped plates, anything to identify what buggy you have.

Here are the parts that SHOULD fit your machine but without knowing exactly what you have they may not:
