I have a 2004 Carter Talon with the original engine, I would like to convert it to a HF Predator 212 engine. Does anyone have experience in doing this, video would be great, thanks.
Have you compared the bolt pattern of the original engine to the bolt pattern of the predator. I have no idea what the original engine is. If it is a GY-6 ( Honda lay down style ) then you will have to weld on a flat engine mount plate. If your current engine is a lawnmower style and bolted to a flat plate, then it should just be a matter of having the bolt holes or slots in the right place. How about some pictures of the back of your kart. We can help steer you through this. You really shouldn't need a video to figure this out.
GY6 is a Yamaha design. They are usually around 8-9 hp and around 12 ftlbs torque stock. A 420 would be a much better match torque wise. You will need to cut all that off and rebuild the swingarm for a flat plate industrial engine mount.
