i picked up this racing go kart off craigslist for $200 from a 70 yr old man who said he raced this up untill 2 yrs ago when he had a stroke then he quit and just left it in his garage.

it has a yamaha kt100s engine with original manuals and paper work. documentation of engine rebuild in 2009.

it has the kustom kart logo engraved all over the motor and the metal box that holds the starter and battery.

and it has lugana stickers on certain parts on the frame.

it also came with the stand for the pits when not racing, extra new parts like pistons, rings, crank, engine and carb gaskets, spark plugs, 2 extra new chains, and specific looking tools to work on it, neck brace, racing jacket and gloves, also tons of new yamaha racing 2 cycle oil mix and chain lube and bearing grease and horstman clutch fluids..

also came with a aftermarket horstman wet clutch and other parts.

and it also has a digatron tachometer in the steering wheel.

from the lil bit of research i did im guessing its a racing kart and engine from the mid to late 1980's.

i no what the engine is ( yamaha kt100s ) but what brand is the frame ?

and what is this go kart worth in resell value with all that it has with it and in perfect working condition ?

thanks

For $200 you didn't buy it, you stole it! The started alone is worth that much.

Great score:thumbsup:

i figured that because i see very very similar go karts this style on craigslist called top karts and more selling for $2000 to $3500.

what brand is my frame if you know and what do you think this whole package is worth in resell value ?

There was a racekart manufacturer named Laguna, they went out of business but some of the same guys build Trick/Olympic brand racekarts now. Heres a link to their site and contact info: http://www.trickolimpic.com/
If you emailed them with links to your pics, they'd prolly tell you what year/model it is.

Nice score  I think your kart and accessories are worth somewhere in the $650-$1000 range.

With those engravings on the engine you may have some trick engine work as well. Does the paper work say what was done to it? And what bore?

paper work dont say much. its a recipt that says $427.50 for rebuild, crank, piston, ring, gaskets, polish and bore.

90 day gaurentee on all work, and then the rest is the guys name address and credit card info thats been blacked out with a market.

where do you live that you found this ?

im in allentown pa by dorney park. im always on craigslist looking up cool toys for my 9 yr old daughter and my 6 yr old son.

im always looking up go karts, mini 4 wheeler and gas scooter, mini pitbikes and things like that for that fun collection.

i actually found this go kart hidden in the general section with no pics in the ad and no number to call.

the title was spelled

" RACING KUSTOMKARTGOKART FORSALE "

EXACTLY LIKE THAT

so i emailed the guy my cell number and asked for pics. about a week passed then i got pics of the the go kart sent to my phone and when i asked who he was he told me i emailed him a while back but he has been busy.

so i asked him how much. he said $250.

i asked him if it worked and he said it ran last 2 years ago before he put it away in his garage.

so i went to his house and to mu suprise it was sitting outside on his lawn all ready for me with boxes of extra parts and a custom made stand.

he said you no what "kid" ( im 31yrs old and he called me kid ) i noticed that the battery is dead for the starter so just give me $200 large and its all yours ill even help you load it.

just like that. lmfao.. i had no idea what i had but i knew it was something great and a once in a life time amazing price.

so i loaded it up, helped the man finish pulling some weeds out of his driveway by hand. then went on my way with a bis smile on my face.........

your go kart frame

Mine looks almost just like yours. I'm told mine is a Bug Black Widow. Everything looks exactly the same as mine except I have additional 3 holes to adjust at the bottom of steering wheel mount like the 3 at the top. I'm told mine is 80's possibly earlier 80's. Did you find out more about yours?

bug black widow kart

Bug is from the first go kart making company in the USA from the late 50's called GO KART MANUFACTURER (first go kart makers) they spun off a variety of Brands of Go Karts. Bug being one of them. In the BUG Brand of karts the product line was WASP, SCORPION, STINGER, and BLACK WIDOW are the ones I know of. Yours looks just like the Black Widow. Let me know what you find out from other people (LAGUNA) because it looks exactly like mine and I want to know for sure what mine is too. I'm told mine is a Bug Black Widow. And I have compared to other known Bug Black Widows and they are same. Very slight differences here and there through the years.
