2 speed belt drive

heres some pics of my 2 speed setup i am looking to convert it to chaindrive i have 8'' tires

Your tires are much bigger than 8", I would suggest that 8" is the size or your rims or the radius of your tires. In another thread you mentioned you have a 5:1 ratio for your low gear, that'd probably to high. You should gear it down more, that could cure your belt burning problem, the smaller pulleys are pretty small too.

you can make a 2 speed chain drive, costly though(i can find one if you wan't. you can find a comet tc on ebay, craigslist, people on the forum, if your ok with a non comet, bulletlines.com, gokartsusa.com, ebay, and gokartsupply.com, all have them. cvt are also costly, but they increase the performance a lot.

it really depends on the type of tc required, and how much you can get it for, but i bet a normal sized used quad engine would cost much less and would preform better.
