Your first gear is going to burn up belts. The same 6:1 approximation still applies to belt tensioner clutches. Having the motor set to always run at WOT may not be a great idea. How about find a way to tension one belt and lock that in then to work your throttle up, disengage 1, engage 2, then rethrottle in a higher gear now that there's less rolling resistance? You're going to engage you belt and be trying to go full speed from a stand still. And with that ratio, you're going to overheat your belts and liquify them against the pullies.

I think you need to read into this a little more. Its not as simple as pulling numbers out your @$$, I spent a week of math classes calculating engine rpm with different gear ratios, amounts of gear overlap, speed at idle with clutch out, etc.

:iagree: I, too, have spent many math classes scratching numbers into my note book figuring my top speed and gear ratios, especially with a CVT in the mix. My low, my high, speed with 18" tires and 3600 RPM clone, etc. What speeds I could've had with the XR100 motor I ended up selling :( (wish I would've kept it).
