Doug, at least in the real world, the bolt hole circle is EXACTLY how to measure automotive rims ;)

OOPS- My bad. As usual, you are correct. ...I was reaching back and relying on faulty memory. .... It works in MY world.:lolgoku:

In the REAL world I sometimes talk out of the wrong end. Thankfully, I have freinds here to keep me in line and cover that part of my anatomy. ...

Well I ended up finder some rear wheels and bought them online for $44 bucks shipped. I think the rear hub will be fine and I also found the 99502H bearings I need for the front wheels online for $1.80 each but going to hold off on those because I need new front wheels amd tires anyway. I will keep looking out for parts.

Good thing you held off on the bearings. No way they are high speed for that price. I'm confused now. Why do need new front wheels? Don't throw anything away you replace - I think I know someone that can use the old ones.:idea2:

Well the only reason I need/want to replace the front wheels is because they are mismatched and one of them is cracked. The $2 bearings are from a few gokart stores online. Here are some pics of the front wheels. I really like the wheel in the top pic. Maybe I can find just one of the halves to replace the broken one. So basically I need 3 halveshalves

OK- I see what's going on now. My younger brother replaced some wheels and those are the old ones I was taking about. I don't think either one of those you have were original.

Still don't believe the bearings......gokart places sell non-high speed bearings as well......consider yourself forewarned

Edit: You gave a part# for the bearings- how about the name of the source for $1.80?.

Well- I'm on a roll wrong twice in the same thread....Those look good to me but as Bill Cosby said : "See- we are dumb, but we are not so dumb...."

Remember I said " I might need one...." (bearing)

I'm only online on a phone- can you tell if the fronts have lug bolts? And yes- even taking perspective into consideration, those wheels look identical to me.

Doug, we had another member post recently concerning spindle bearings as well; the bearings in question are most commonly found in small electric motors. That's one of the reasons they're so cheap. There really isn't any "repair" you can do to one of these when they fail; if you can't clean them out with brake cleaner (after removing the rubber seals), no matter what you dream of cooking them in, they're scrap.

The price gets even cheaper when you buy them in the ten packs I've seen listed; that's two complete front end sets, with a pair of spares......

Yeah that's pretty much what I meant. But you can roll them over and they feel really rough and after "rebuilding" them (removing dust covers clean re-grease) they are like new. It's easiest to tell when cleaning- if they don't spin forever with a slight spin- they're history.

I can't argue with the price. IDW- but the one I got from BMI wasn't high speed and @$1.80... You guys can shop for me from now on.

For that price, you most likely aren't looking at anything made in the US or Western Europe. That's why I said they were basically throw aways. And the prices I saw came from several different main line industrial suppliers here in the States.

I can also tell you that the name brand prices for those sizes are between 3 to 10 times higher (i.e. $1.85 turns into $18.50). The question is, since seals on these little snots are delicate to say the least, if you know they are on borrowed time, how much are you willing to spend for a bearing that most likely won't see 500 RPM more that a handful of times in it's short life?

The thing is, bearings with seals that are designed to survive in the environment that many karts call home seem to start in the size range for medium size construction equipment....:surrender:

:cheers2:   Pat
