1981 Jeep CJ5

good Lord, scored a running 2000 Nissan Xterra for $1,800, put in a new alternator and traded it straight up for a 2000 Chevy Tahoe LT, threw in a first gen Keurig machine and traded for the '81 CJ

There is a ton of potential here but I need some help. For starters it's leaking oil and gearbox fluid. The oil leak is coming from this orange cap which doesn't really belong on this motor. Engine is a GM 151 "Iron Duke" and I'm having a hard time figuring out what was supposed to go there, Google isn't returning much.

The gearbox leak is either the output shaft seal of the tranny or the input seal of the transfer case, I'll have to tear into it to find out.

Newly installed speedo cable is only accurate up to 35 mph, jeep goes faster but needle stays there, any ideas why?

IDK if my 2 cents are worth it, but here are my thoughts.
That orange plate looks like the one used on my car if I should remove the mechanical fuelpump and install an electric one.
Was the speedo cable lubed before installation? Don't know if all are supplied dry, but those I have bought where. But honestly that does not add up either. Might be a problem with the speedo drive in the tranny.

Yea old fuel pump

Just make a new gasket for it

The transfer probs doesn't have an input seal
Just a seal between the the gear and trans box

Caused by blocked breather
Break the joint and seal it with some RTV

If the output is gone then it's likely a worn flange
U will need a speedy sleeve

Fill up all the oils and give it a good wash
Then it's easier to trace leaks

Your speedo pic seems to be showing your odometer is reading 00000.0, so I'm guessing someone caused your speedometer problem when they set the odometer back. Check to see if the orange speedometer needle is touching the faceplate at 35mph. If so, they probably just slightly bent the shaft that needle presses onto. If that's the only problem you could probably take it apart, straighten the shaft and fix it without buying any parts.

Your engine pic is showing the mechanical fuel pump is still bolted on...

That "orange cap" is a factory installed distributor block-off plate. Iron dukes made in the 1981 era have the option of installing the distributor in different 2 locations, depending on what vehicle the engine was installed in.
