1971 Honda CB350 Kart Engine

Nice to know modelengineer. I always thought a 180* would help if the engine where under load because instead of 4 strokes until the next fire there's two. That one guy: that's a sweet bike! I would love to build a cafe racer when I'm older. I cut the rusted muffelers off and put the pipes on the engine to try and figure out the exhaust. What pipe should I be using to build the exhaust? Sorry I meant what pipe/tubing should I build it out of? I mocked up the pipes today and got a few ideas. I could have the pipes run off to each side like the stock setup and join them together behind the engine or I was also thinking of running them both off to the side and making them like a 2 into 1 pipe. I have some pics attached of the 2 into 1 idea. Also I was doing some glasspack research and I was thinking of getting a cherrybomb muffler? Any recomendations?

Oh ya and on a side note I have an abrasive blade on a old ryobi chop saw that I got of CL for sheap. when I was cutting the steel for my frame the blade flex's if I put to much pressure on it so I get a uneven cut. Can I get a different non abrasive blade for it?

2 into 1 looks sweet. Cherrybombs are for cars, which have much more air moving through them with much more force. I think it would be too heavy/restrictive.

I could do a 2 into 1 with a megaphone on the end? I hear what your saying about it being too restrictive. Sorry for not updating in a while, I was at my cabin having some fun . Before I left I took apart the parts bike motor so I could throw it on ebay. I guess if anyone wants parts for a 71' honda CB350 shoot me a pm. Tomorrow im gonna cut the steel for the cart frame so I can truck it out to my uncles this weekend for him to weld it. Ill take some pics when Im done.

If you don't have a muffler of some sort then you will definitely need earplugs AND a helmet to drive it.

I wear earplugs under my helmet and still get a headache after driving for more than an hour. It's insanely loud, louder than any car with straight pipes except for some highly tuned engines.

If I were you I'd get one of those cheap 'cannon' mufflers from ebay and stick that on the end. That should make it quiet enough so you can drive without discomfort (while wearing earplugs and helmet of course). It's what I'm probably going to do.

My helme has really nice sound deadining. I got it from my coucin who races and I guess it was a pretty high end helmet. I found a FMF pipe on ebay that I was thinking of putting on there. I also picked up some honda racing decals for $3 shipped . Sorry I havn't posted pics of all the cut steel. My momma said that I had to wait till a weekday cause the saw's so loud. I WILL be cutting the steel tomorrow or tuesday so pics will be up then.

Those kinds of saws and blades are notorious for "walking" you just need to use a good blade and go slow. One tip. Most guys get thinner blades because they seem like they would give a more precise cut--WRONG. Get a good thick blade. They flex less under pressure.

I bet that engine would sounds sweet with a Supertrap exhaust on it. I had a Supertrap setup on my Yamaha TT 500 and it ruled.

arn't these old cb's worth a bit of money now? they are over here anyway. They're cool bikes you should keep one as a bike

Sorry Guys but I sold the motor to buy a GSXR 600 motor for my mini buggy. I still have alot of parts though if anyone wants some??????
