Hi, I have a Dune cat that I just acquired from my ex husband. It’s been sitting in his parents garage since he was a kid. All that is there is the shell and the frame. I am wanting to rebuild it as a project for my girls and I to do together. Something that they can learn from as far as the use of tools, motors, parts, and such. Any tips on where I can find the parts I need to get this thing rebuilt successfully?? I need the steering, pedals, tires, and possibly wheels. Might add seatbelt harness as well.

May I ask, what is most likely a silly question but, why no harness if no roll cage??

if it rolls you can get pinned under. with no belts it is often better to fall from the kart so it doesn't land on you.

What they said above. If you think about it, no racing karts have belts. If it was good to use them, they would be the ones to have it as a necessity. You don't want to be strapped to a kart and have it flip on top of you because you are tied to it.

With a cage, you want to be strapped in so that if you roll, you don't fall out and have the cage crush you as it rolls

I hope this explains it.

Considering these are pretty rare, it may end up being a pain finding original manufacturer parts unless you look hard. Scroll up and click search, type in muskin. Almost an entire page of threads pop up. Some may be very helpful to you. Here are a few below

Very true, no roll bar or roll cage = no safety harness or seat belt. I would advise always wearing a helmet.
You might check with www.gopowersports for parts, also just goggle the parts you need - see what comes up.
Keep us posted on your progress. :)

Thank you all for the advice and the information for parts!! Helmets are a requirement for my kiddos regardless!! They don’t like it but they also have the option to just not ride any atv’s *♀️ I really appreciate everyone who has commented.
