1969 BUG Humbug. Designed as a youth fun-kart / beginer kart made by BUG Manu.(K&P). Purchased from original owner, the kart came with a Techumseh 2.5 4-stroke, which is in the process of restoration. Tabloc spoke wheels are original as the rest of the kart. Changed only the engine, a nos Clinton 500, pedals and throttle cable, some new nuts and bolts mostly the old ones and tires 340/300-5. Fresh powdercoat. The original seat and a homemade driver fairing is in restoration process. Need to complete the drive with a clutch and chain and decals.

If you have one, let me know. We can share info. thanks!

Dave

Clinton made great 2 cycle engines.
I have an A-400 which I received as a pile of incomplete parts. It's a runner now, thanx to nos piston, rings, and reed plate.
My second Clinton is a model 500 and has only about 20 hours on it and drives a ducted ventilation fan.

Way too cool ..... can't wait to see her all finished and running.

(I have to admit when I saw the "HumBug" in the title, I thought it was something else, like a smaller version of a Hummer body on a Volkswagon chassis. They're kit cars, manufactured under the name HummBug, and look like pint-sized HUMMV's .....))

Again, nice job. Is the fairing aluminium? I like the satin look.

BTW, it must be nice to be allowed to bring the kart inside the house. Probably wouldn't fly in my household.

Wow

Hi, noob here. I've loved old karts for some time now and after a bit of looking around... found your post. (ALOT of looking around that is)

It would appear that I've found myself something very VERY similar to what you've got here except mine looks slightly different.

My engine mount is on the right and uses a live axle. It says "stinger" on the pan but I suspect that it's not.

Your thoughts?

Kelly

No, I'm just stating that it is a small and basic go kart. Not meaning anything by it. Sheesh
