178cc Clone

I have a 178cc clone engine off a Homelite power washer that won't start. It has spark and compression and I give it a squirt of starting fluid, but I don't get a pop. I looked at the valves and they seem to be moving freely. What do I check next?

Broke flywheel key.

Let us know when you get the flywheel off, and take photos. Haven't seen a sheared flywheel key in a long time.

If it has spark and won't even pop with staring fluid, you're going to have to determine if the spark is happening at the right time. That would be caused by a flywheel that has shifted. Unlikely, but possible.
