This guy breaks down the GY6 clones on his website. http://www.key-ideas.com/Yerf-Dog-3206-Howhit-Engine.htm He seems to give it a positive reaction. He has this article and an article of his mods if you go back to his go kart page. Judging from what he says I would be willing to try it on a kart.

After reading this... I want one of these engines. They sound quite nice. Where can I get one of these for a reasonable price?

Pretty much any new Chinese pos scooter comes with a GY6 clone. Ours came from a Tank scooter 150cc.

You can find them in the Baja, Roketa, SunL etc etc... Look on your local CL and you'll probably find a cheap chinese made scooter selling for dirt cheap because they're put together so poorly.

People are selling their Chinese made scooters because they only put them together to last long enough to be on the show floor, and for a few rides, but then they start having issues. The engine is good, but everything else is poorly built.

A lot of people swap in a GY6 engine into a Honda Ruckus making the 50cc Ruckus into a 150cc badboy.

Also, the GY6 is a highly modifiable engine from what i've read on other scooter forums.

go to ebay and look up howhit or spider box or swingarm in all ebay motors section. this is a subframe for a gokart designed to hold a 150cc scooter engine . axle , rear brake and etc. you cant make it for the price. go to this site ; tomberlin crossfire 150 r tpg manuals . there is info that will help you see whats involved.
